ChEhRe – The Dramatics Club of IMNU organized a workshop “Abhinayam”, which was mentored by Mr. Chirag Modi, a great actor, director and writer. The workshop started with a walking exercise which helped the participants to stay still and learn how different walks can affect the character we play. The next exercise included different formations in a team which helped to learn to work in a team and be a good team player. The last exercise was a creative process where the team had to prepare a script and act on it. It helped the participants in improving voice modulation, stage presence and etiquette, body language and gain confidence. The exercise even taught us the importance of rehearsals before performances. At the end of the session, sir answered various questions including how to handle a hooting crowd, how to not feel nervous, how to connect with the audience and how to fit into the character that we are performing.
Students from Institute of Management, Nirma University had participated in the workshop. By this workshop, the participants along with having fun also gained many important messages related not only to acting or drama but also to our daily activities, to everything we do in our daily routine. We as a club also participated which helped in improving our acting skills too.
