Market Mayhem was organized by NiCHE- The Marketing Club of Institute of Management, Nirma University.
Market Mayhem is the most effective way to learn the marketing that exists today. This event comprised of two levels. First round ‘Know your target” tested the basic awareness of the participants over different parent companies’ existing products and theitr product lines. Each member of the team was given a dart and they had to aim at a dart board containing names of 7 parent companies, aiming at the company they feel they have adequate knowledge about. Where ever the dart hit the board that company was allotted to the team. The teams was then given a question paper and they had to answer the question according to the relevant parent company allotted to them within 3 minutes.
In the second round the top 10 teams were required to design a product based on a particular situation. The teams were given 5 situations and were given the liberty to select any one of the given situation. Once the situation was selected the teams had to complete the following tasks in 15 minutes. The task was to make a product, name of the product, decide the tagline, explain the features of the product, decide the brand ambassador, and select the target market and any other specification if they had. After 15 minutes each team had to pitch their product. The presentation time was 7 minutes plus 3 minutes for question answer.
The event helped discover the inner marketer in every student. The event was a success and the participants enjoyed themselves.
